Department of Health Management and Health Economics (HELED) conducts research and teaching in the fields of health economics, health policy, health systems, quality of care, and health management. HELED has built up a strong multi-disciplinary research community which includes economists, political scientists, and physicians. Over the years, academic staff members have served on a number of consultative and advisory committees for the Norwegian government. Many research projects are carried out in close collaboration with professionals working in the health services.
The department has a Bachelor programme in Health Economics and Management and two Master programmes (Health Economics, Policy, and Management & European Health Economics and Management). The research is organized in the following four research groups:

- Health Economics and Policy
- Health Organisation, Management and Ethics
- Clinical Effectiveness Research
